What is an Association Health Plan?

Using the services of an association administrator-specific health insurance plan are coordinated and billed under a master contract with the insurance carrier. Expect billing & membership fees either built into the pricing or in addition to the cost of the insurance premium. Although new members & groups can start plans during the year, the association open enrollment period ends on January 1st of each year for all members/groups of association and starts a new plan year.

Organizations that are businesses of 2 or more employees, members of certain professional organizations, individuals, and sole proprietors in selected counties in Pennsylvania are eligible for these association programs.
